Sometimes I wonder...................

As a little child I was raised to believe that I can talk to God and he will answer me. I often heard people share how they heard from God and how he spoke to them. I was intrigued. I wanted God to talk to me. I remember as a teenager when my world was falling apart, I turned off the lights in my bedroom and begged God to talk to me. I thought for sure since the lights were off he would definitely show up. I waited and waited patiently yet anxiously expecting to share a moment with God. He never came...... At least not while I was awake.
Throughout my life, I never completely severed my ties with God although I struggled with my love for him. If you could talk to God what would you say? I would want to know why he allow others to have successful lives while others suffer such inhumanity. Why would he allow children to starve to death? Why are we humans always at war? Why would he create a world that has so much crime? Why are our triumphs so short lived? Are we not allowed to be happy for a long length of time? What's wrong with creating a balance for all? After all, he can do anything.
The questions go on and on................... Sometimes I wonder.
